    Halo vs Freshservice

For desks that have outgrown the starter tool.

Freshservice is a good first ITSM platform. The question is what happens when you need real change control, a CMDB, multi-department workflows or AI that isn't on a higher tier. Halo's published position is that it grows with you on one licence. Here is what the numbers say.

Every figure on this page is Halo's own published number or a verified third-party rating, with the source linked. We've added what we know from 35+ Halo implementations of our own.

    When to choose which.

Written to help you choose, including when the answer isn't Halo. A bad fit costs us more than a lost deal.

    Choose Halo when

    • You need change control, a CMDB and problem management that are not bolted on
    • More than one department will run on the platform
    • AI without a tier upgrade
    • Reporting the board will read without a BI project
    • You want the option of on-premise or a private cloud
    • You do not want to migrate again in three years

    Consider Freshservice when

    • You are a small IT team with simple ticketing needs and no ESM ambition
    • The Freshworks suite is already embedded across the business
    • Budget for the next year only, not the next five
    • A very light, quick set-up matters more than depth

What a Specialised Halo Partner adds.

Halo's numbers are about the platform. These are about the implementation, which is where most comparisons are actually won or lost.

We know where the ceiling is

Most of our Freshservice conversations start with change, CMDB or a second department. We'll tell you in the first call whether you've hit it.

Migrate the history, not the habits

Tickets, assets and knowledge come across. Workflows are rebuilt around how the desk actually works now, not how it was set up two years ago.

    One data model, four products

If customer service, MSP work or sales are next, they join the same platform. That is the difference between growing and re-platforming.

    Questions we get asked.

How does Halo compare to Freshservice for a growing organisation?
Halo's published position is that it is the natural progression for desks that have outgrown entry-level tooling: full ITIL 4, AI, comprehensive asset management and multi-team workflows on one licence, with no platform change as needs evolve.
How long does a Freshservice-to-Halo migration take?
Halo publishes two to three months for most organisations, depending on data volume and workflow complexity. Our own mid-market implementations run eight to twelve weeks; we scope yours before we quote.
Are these numbers yours or Halo's?
Halo's, and Gartner's. Every figure is linked to where it was published. Our own numbers are the implementation ones: 35+ Halo implementations, eight to twelve weeks to go-live, and the three proof slots on our product pages.
Is AI really included in the Halo licence?
Halo publishes that AI is part of every licence at no extra cost: triage, auto-classification, knowledge suggestions, resolution recommendations and AI-assisted reporting. Running those agents well afterwards is a discipline of its own, which is what our AI Ninjas practice does.
Will you tell us if Halo isn't the right fit?
Yes. The "consider the alternative when" list on this page is real, and we use it in the first conversation. We are a pure-play partner; a client who leaves in a year costs us more than one we never won.

See the difference on your own tickets.

A side-by-side demo built on your processes, not a slide deck. Bring the Freshservice quote and we'll price the alternative in the same meeting.
